Nils Olof Thorbjörn Fälldin ( huhtikuuta – heinäkuuta) oli ruotsalainen poliitikko keskustapuolueesta. Hän toimi kolmen hallituksen pääministerinä vuosien ja välillä ja puolueensa puheenjohtajana vuosina – Fälldinin aloittaessa pääministerinä vuonna oli hän ensimmäinen muusta kuin sosiaalidemokraattisesta puolueesta valittu pääministeri Ruotsissa neljäänkymmeneen vuoteen.
Elämä
[muokkaa | muokkaa wikitekstiä]Fälldin varttui maanviljelijäperheessä Ångermanlandissa. Hän työskenteli perheen tilalla jo teini-ikäisenä, mutta käytti kaikki opiskelumahdollisuudet hyväkseen. Hän opiskeli kauppatiedettä kirjekurssilla ja auttoi seudun tilallisia sitten kirjanpidossa maksua vastaan. Hän kirjoitti ylioppilaaksi yksityisesti vuonna Ruotsin valtiopäiville hän nousi vuonna [1]
Fälldin osti perheen tilan vaimonsa kanssa vuonna ja asui siellä kaikki poliitikkovuotensa. Jopa pääministerinä ollessaan hän ajoi viikonlopuksi kotipaikkakunnalle.[1]
Vuonna Fälldin voitti kilpailun puolueensa varapuheenjohtajuudesta Johannes Antonssonia vastaan ja vuonna hän seurasi Gunnar Hedlundia puolueen puheenjohtajana.[1] Fälldin ehdotti vuonna keskusta

On his first appointment in , he was the first non-Social Democrat Prime Minister for 40 years and the first since the s not to have worked as a professional politician since his teens.[2] He was also the last Prime Minister to not be from the Social Democrats or Moderate Party.
Early life

He was the son of the farmer Nils Johan Fälldin and his wife Hulda (née Olsson),[6] who were involved in agriculturally focused political and civic associations.[2] Fälldin grew up in a farming family in Ångermanland.[1][4] He grew up on the family family farm in Ramvik, which later became his home as an adult.[7] Fälldin completed his formal schooling at the age of [5& Thorbjörn Fälldin was a Swedish politician who left an indelible mark on the country's political landscape.
