En shopaholics bekännelser

New York-bon Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher) har hamnat i en liten svacka; över en natt är hon både arbetslös och jagad av kronofogden. Efter att halvhjärtat ha stretat på sitt otillfredsställande journalistjobb på en trädgårdstidning, får hon till sin stora skräck reda på att tidningen gått i konkurs. Men det är inte bara vännen Suze (Krysten Ritter) som förväntar sig en månatlig check från sin inneboende. På dörren knackar även vad som ser ut att vara en oändlig rad av diverse kreditkortsföretag. Ni förstår, Rebecca har en liten fäbless för shopping och denna shopping får hennes fyrkantiga små vänner av plast bekosta.
